Port O Connor Fishing Report – Feb 27, 2015

Feb. 27, 2015 Cold weather and cold water equal a slow bite. The water temperature has dropped into the mid-50’s. Finding fish anywhere is a problem. Tuesday the morning low was in the mid 30’s with a high of 41. Fishing on Wednesday was great for sheepshead around pier pilings and at the jetties on live shrimp. Things are supposed to warm up for the next few days. That will definitely perk up fishing at the jetties for trout and reds. Free-lined live shrimp have been best at the jetties for the past couple of weeks. Look for South Pass to be good for reds this weekend. If you don’t mind making a run head up the Victoria Barge Canal and fish the deep water boat docks with soft plastics for trout. Capt. Robert Sloan 409 782 6796 Sloan288@aol.com
